If I were to change the ending of a story, it would be the story of, ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’ written by Eric Carle.
In this story, the caterpillar is very hungry. And in the story, its told that from Monday to Friday is to eat. Yet its hungry is not over. On the Saturday, it eats 6 ice-creams and only then it feels somewhat full. Towards the end, the author calls the caterpillar fat.
However, in order to promote health and hygiene among the present generation and anyone hearing story hereafter, I would change the story to say that though the caterpillar ate a lot but it ensured the extra calories were burnt.
And in order to be politically correct, I would refrain from talking about specific color, size, shape or features of any person or living being. Thus, I would end it by saying, after the metamorphosis, there emerged a colorful and wonderful butterfly!
