Have any of you gone on a trip that has transformed you? Well, this trip to TOISNB completely changed my life. Curious to know more, relax and join me!
It was a fine winter morning in January and as it was a Saturday, I did not have to go to school (some of the few things that we 3rd graders enjoyed). Aren’t we all lazy on a cozy winter morning? The lazy bug in me was urging me not to get out of the bed. As if my dad heard my mind-voice, he walked in from nowhere and said, “Time to go Dhamathi. Let’s explore TOISNB.”
Was he pranking on me? I wasn’t sure. The curious cat within me dragged me out of the bed to the shower and then to the dining table. His dress told me that we weren’t going on a picnic. I guessed maybe he is taking me to one of his meetings that regularly happens at resorts on the outskirts of Bengaluru. My dad started driving the car and as customary we started playing games. This time, as he drove, we played ATLAS (a game that is like word antakshari but, instead of words, we use names of places).
The gigantic entrance with a multi-sport playable green turf was a sure plus item. Though the basketball court was small, I was already imagining shooting the ball. The courteous executives at the reception welcomed us warmly and offered us a drink. I was beginning to like TOISNB. Upon the request of my dad, one of the executives took us around the premises. All that I saw seemed to be designed and installed for a purpose. The orchestra room with instruments – percussion, stringed and wood-wind – impressed me. The dance floor assured me of fun-filled evenings. My dad's eyes swelled when he saw the swimming pool.
By the time we came to the reception, I was determined to make TOISNB a part of my life. My dad wasn’t convinced as they couldn’t they show us the rooms. He kept asking more questions, including few questions that were making the poor executive uncomfortable. I was getting impatient, but I had no other choice. However, the executives handled his question and explained to him why TOISNB would be a better choice and worth the investment. After around 45 minutes of discussion, my spirits were high when my dad reached out for his wallet and fished out a bank card for payment.
The trip on January 18, 2020, to The Orchids International School @ Nagarbhavi (TOISNB) undoubtedly changed my life. The online classes that started in April 2020 gave me a good break from the boredom of lockdown. The new mode of learning was challenging but interesting. The friendly teachers and the use of videos made learning interesting. The evening classes wherein I could learn to sing and also to dance imbibed new skills in me. The Bind & Wind classes as well as Public Speaking helped me to communicate effectively. TOISNB to gave me an opportunity figure in a video in the school’s Facebook and also present a short speech for Orchadio. The planned schedule that has PE classes keeps me healthy and fit.
All-round development is what I gained and never did I imagine that the trip to TOISNB would transform me so much so soon! If you agree with me that TOISNB transforms us, please leave your experience and liking in the comment column.
