I LOVE reading! And thanks to the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition Society, I was able to write a story about what would happened if I was part of my favorite book!
In June 2022, we heard about the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Competition through my old school's Principal Mrs. Latha Karri. I am immensely grateful to her. In 2022, 2023, and 2024, I had bagged the bronze award. This time? I've bagged the gold!
I decided to give it a shot this year. I scrolled down to the Junior category. There 4 topics mentioned but the one that caught my interest was "You embark on a very special journey when you discover a secret door that takes you into your favorite book! What happens next? (750 Words)"
Having just read "Good Girl, Bad Blood", the second book of Holly Jackson's famous A Good Girl's to Murder, I knew I had to choose it. I like this book because it takes every thing I loved about the first story and makes it even more intense and emotional. I loved seeing Pip’s inner struggles. Her trauma, her guilt, and the heavy responsibility she feels as she’s pulled into another mystery.
The mixed format of multi-media transcripts, messages, notes and layered story-telling made me feel like I was actually part of the investigation. But what really drew me in was how the book explores the cost of always searching for the truth. It wasn’t just a mystery to me. It was a powerful, character-driven story that stayed with me long after I finished it. I was so excited to see what I could come up with along the lines of this topic!
This story got me this Gold Certificate!

I am so grateful for this opportunity. I would like to thank my parents who are always there by my side. I am grateful to all my English teachers who have helped me make a huge advancement in the language. Most importantly a HUGE thanks to all those who have been blessing me all along.
