Hello Everyone! This is the first poem from my book - Fleeting Feelings. It gives you a glimpse into growing up. I hope you enjoy it!

I miss the days when homework flew by fast,

A page or two, then I was free at last.

I'd grab my shoes and race into the sun,

Where laughter ruled and every game was fun.

We'd chase the wind, pretend the world was ours,

Climb trees like towers, dream among the stars.

No worries yet, no races just to win,

Just skinned-up knees and mud-stained skin.

But now my time is planned from dawn to night,

With deadlines near and goals kept in my sight.

New friends and fears come walking by my side,

Yet so do dreams and growing strength inside.

The fun has changed, but still my heart beats true.

The kid I was still walks this path with me too.
