When my best friend Niyanika first told me about an event called Mission to Mars, I was instantly curious. Just the title made me imagine rockets, astronauts, and maybe even a chance to talk about space! But when she sent me the invite, I realized it was actually an event by HDFC Mutual Fund. That twist made me even more eager to see what it was really about.
The session began with Ms. Girija, who immediately grabbed everyone’s attention by saying, “We’re planning to go to Mars. A planet with limited resources. That’s also how our life will be if we don’t invest.” Suddenly, everything clicked. The “Mission to Mars” wasn’t about outer space. It was about learning how to manage our money so that we don’t end up living with limited resources on our own plan.
Throughout the session, we explored key ideas like saving early, investing wisely, understanding risk, and being patient. What stood out to me most was how simply and clearly everything was explained. Instead of complicated financial jargon, Ms. Girija used stories and examples we could all relate to. Like planting a tiny seed today so that it becomes a strong tree tomorrow. It made the world of investing feel less intimidating and much more exciting.
We also had fun team activities, delicious food, and lots of interactions. I even got to record a video for them, which was such a cool experience! The atmosphere was positive and encouraging just like how I try to approach life, with energy, smiles, and an open mind.
By the end of the session, I felt a new sense of confidence. The kind that comes when you realize you have power over your own future. I learned that money isn’t just something adults worry about; it’s a tool we can start understanding early. I felt ready to set goals, save for them, and let money work for me, not the other way around.
For someone like me, a cheerful extrovert with a golden-retriever personality, the best part was connecting with new people and sharing ideas. It reminded me that finance, too, is about communication, collaboration, and optimism.
In the end, Mission to Mars wasn’t just a financial workshop. It was a mission to our own future guided by the right mindset, the right habits, and the courage to dream big while staying grounded. I left with new ideas, inspiration, and a promise to myself: To keep learning about how I can build, not just dream.
