Poem: Attitude for Gratitude

Writer's picture: Dhamathi SureshDhamathi Suresh

In Oct 2024, for Champ Quest Foundation, I wrote a poem titled, "The Attitude for Gratitude." I am thrilled to note that I my poem was selected and published by Noted Nest - https://www.notednest.com/post/the-attitude-of-gratitude

Eyes flutter open, dreams let go,

Awake to dawn's soft amber glow.

A yawn, a stretch, the day's begun,

Grateful for the rising sun.

Brushing teeth, a splash of cold,

Mirror's reflection, stories told.

Clothes and backpack on, out on the way,

Ready to embrace the rest of the day.

Steps on pavement, crisp and clear,

Birdsongs whisper in my ear.

Trees sway gently, leaves in dance,

Nature's beauty, a beautiful trance.

In classrooms knowledge flow,

Within plenty of questions grow.

Teachers’ kind with wisdom vast,

Guide us to life that’s fast.

Cafeteria's hum, a cheerful crowd,

Gratitude in every bite savored.

Fuel for learning, energy to relaunch,

The zeal increases like an avalanche.

School day's end, the journey back,

Hues in the sky, stop me in my track.

Steps retraced, a gentle pace,

At home awaits, a warm embrace.

Parents' smiles, their love so bright,

Everyone’s God in plain sight.

Stories shared, laughter's ring,

Grateful for the joy they bring.

Desk lamp glows, books in line,

Knowledge gained, a treasure mine.

Curiosity raised, lessons learned,

In education, wisdom is masked.

Day's end draws near, moon's soft gleam,

Thoughts drift gently into dream.

All that I have, I’m thankful,

I go to sleep, tranquil.
