Hey Little Voices!
Recently, I got a request from the PRINCIPAL of my school to write a poem for Environmental Day! I was honored for the same as my poem was published in the school's newsletter. This was actually another poem I came out of my comfort zone or the free verse poem zone to write. I hope you guys enjoy it!
On World Environment Day we stand,
With earth in mind, hand in hand.
From forests green to oceans blue,
A planet cherished, for me and you.
Each tree that breathes, each creature small,
Nature's wonders, standing tall.
We pledge to heal, to nurture, to mend,
For a future bright, where all life can transcend.
So let us strive, both far and near,
To keep our planet clean and clear.
With every step, with every choice,
Let's raise our voices, let's rejoice.
For Earth, our home, so vast and grand,
On World Environment Day, let's take a stand.
In the heart of June, the world unites,
To champion Earth's precious rights.
World Environment Day, a call to arms,
To shield our planet from all harms.
From polar ice to desert sands,
Our fragile ecosystems in our hands.
The air we breathe, the waters deep,
The mountains high, where eagles sweep.
Let's plant the seeds of change today,
In every corner, in every way.
Reduce, reuse, recycle too,
For a sustainable world, for me and you.
Protect the forests, protect the seas,
For future generations, let's appease.
Let's heal the wounds that we have made,
Restore the balance, not to fade.
On this day, let's take a vow,
To honor Earth, here and now.
With love and care, with hope and might,
Let's keep our planet shining bright.
World Environment Day, a global plea,
For harmony and biodiversity.
Let's celebrate the beauty found,
In every tree, in every sound.
For Earth, our home, so rich and rare,
Let's show her how much we care.
